About Time

AboutTime-Clip05There was a time in my life where I was very much about the music.  It seems there were frequent occasions to listen to it: in my room, driving about with friends, at dances, at clubs, working out, or on my Walkman just about anywhere.  Nowadays, I rarely listen to music ever.  And I miss it.  And whenever I do listen, it reminds me of these distant, younger, simpler times. 21: Music Review

Unless you live in a cave, with no electricity or media exposure, you’ve heard Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” about 500,000 times over the last couple of months.  And that’s too bad.  Because when you hear a song that many times, you can’t help but hate it (with the exception of Vanilla Ice’s “Ice, Ice, Baby;” that song NEVER gets old; word to your mother).  I feel the same way.  But, I liked her voice, found it new and fresh and captivating enough that I decided to see what all the fuss is about.  And I’m glad I did. Crows don’t chase butterflies!

The music I like changes with my moods, but for the most part, when I’m listening to music, it is because I want to get pumped (it’s early in the morning and I’m tired, it’s the end of a long day at work and I want to blow off some steam, I am headed to the gym and need to get hyped to punch and/or be punched in the face).  I know we’ve done annoying songs before, but you know what song gets me less pumped than any other?  “The Crow and the Butterfly” by Shinedown (see for yourself).
